The team

We’re a small but perfectly formed team who provide legal support to all areas of the global business that includes corporate, commercial, media, tech, IP licensing, litigation, finance, and compliance on an international scale. You will be joining a commercially minded, fast-paced legal team filled with bright, talented, and passionate people who work in a truly collaborative environment with the opportunity to work on some exciting legal projects. 

Who you’ll be - Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be a Mid-Level Lawyer with at least 4 years of experience in corporate and/or commercial or a paralegal with extensive experience in a similar role. Supporting a variety of complex global legal and compliance issues arising.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping ensure that the global legal function for the Lush Group and Associates is maintained and delivered to a high standard 
  • Support on any corporate restructuring or governance-related matters, and any other Group projects or acquisitions as and when required to ensure legal, compliance risks and considerations are identified and incorporated into the transactions, including due diligence 
  • Support advising on and monitoring any litigation or threatened litigation against the Company, and instructing external counsel when required, and supporting with that process including the preparation of files and bundles and maintaining the same 
  • Advise, review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial, corporate, and other written agreements as required
  • Support in providing company secretarial support services to the Group
  • Proactively monitor legal and regulatory developments and escalate  any current and emerging risks
  • Deputise for the HoL as may be required and prepare attendance notes for the same. This will include Interaction with both internal and external clients on HoL behalf   
  • Provide general admin support, including filing, printing, note-taking, obtaining signatures, post, arranging meetings, and support with supervising the team to ensure teams administrative duties are being fulfilled
  • Conducting legal research and support with resolving complex legal issues in multiple jurisdictions, in particular, contentious matters

Skills and experience:

  • Qualified Lawyer, Legal Exec or Paralegal with extensive experience in the relevant areas of law  
  • Ability to plan and think strategically, build trust, collaborate and develop others
  • Business savvy with commercial experience  
  • Ability to combine your legal and business knowledge to understand the legal and commercial issues, prioritise and provide ways to ensure that the business maintains its legal risks
  • Extensive experience in a law firm or in-house with international corporate and/or commercial litigation experience 
  • International experience will be an advantage
  • Flexibility and adaptability for changing business priorities 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong knowledge of Word/PowerPoint/Excel
  • Able to work independently, prioritize and manage large complex workloads to tight deadlines
  • Min of 3 days per week in the office is required
