We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Practice and Learning Lead Officer to join our Workforce Learning and Development Team on a full time permanent basis. You should be passionate about supporting and coaching social workers to develop their professional practice to high standards.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Within this role you will be responsible for leading and supporting the Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE) Programme for newly qualified social workers (NQSWs). You will work alongside others to deliver excellent support and learning opportunities for NQSWs and students.

Candidates’ must be able to demonstrate the following:

Qualified (HCPC registered) Social Workers with significant post qualifying experience in Children’s Services.

Hold a Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS Stage 1 & 2) or equivalent qualification or experience.

Have experience of providing supervision in a management capacity or as a Practice Educator and be able to demonstrate experience of supporting and assessing NQSWs/social work students in gaining their accreditation/qualification.

You will be expected to provide reflective supervision, support, training and advice to NQSWs to ensure they successful complete their ASYE year and their learning is integrated into practice.

The post holder will need to be able make professional judgments on the quality of social work practice and the practice development plans required for individual NQSWs. As required, the post holder will work with Social Work Managers, Children Workforce Learning & Development manager/ HR to deal with issues of concern regarding individual NQSW performance.

In addition, candidates may be required to support the learning and development needs of Social Work Students on placements.
