Subject Leader for Business Studies

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional colleague to the post of Head of Business Studies who will lead the Business department and who is fully aligned to our Trust Vision, Values and Behaviours and the Academy Key Drivers. 

A visit to the Academy, so you can meet the Principal and key Middle and Senior Leaders is warmly encouraged, to enable you to discuss the post in more detail.

The successful candidate will:

  • be fully aligned to the Trust Vision, Values and Behaviours and the Academy Key Drivers;
  • have a genuine passion for Business Studies;
  • be a driven, proactive and positive individual with an unwavering commitment to continuously improving standards of teaching and learning within faculty and across the Academy;
  • fully buy in to using IRIS and regular drop-in feedback as a mechanism to improve their day-to-day performance as a teacher and the performance of others;
  • have the ability to deliver exceptional teaching and learning;
  • have a track record of delivering clear impact at middle leadership level or have the potential to do so; 
  • have the ability to engage, inspire and build excellent relationships with both students and staff;
  • have a true growth mindset and solid work ethic;
  • have the knowledge and experience of the context in which Wath Academy operates;
  • have a strong set of leadership competencies which enable them to effectively challenge, hold to account and support the teams they lead to deliver impact.
