As a Utility Officer you will cover the roles of Bus Station Assistant, Bus Station Supervisor and Travelshop Assistant working eight hour shifts between the hours of 6am and 12am/Midnight on a rotational basis, 5 out of 7 days, Monday to Sunday on any TfGM bus station as required.

A Bus Station Supervisor monitors all activity and maintains a presence to all users throughout operational hours. You will be required to be flexible and to have an ability to be reactive when required. You will work alongside internal and external partners to ensure that we provide a safe environment for the travelling public.

For the role of Travelshop Assistant you will have experience of dealing with the general public, ideally in a retail environment, and have the communications skills necessary to ensure that customers are provided with the best ticket and/or information for their travel needs. You will be able to handle cash transactions in a busy environment and to complete end of day records which accurately reconcile takings with products sold.

In the Bus Station Assistants role you will assist the bus station teams in keeping the bus station clean and providing a high visibility presence to users at all times during operational hours.  The duties include cleaning, janitorial duties and customer service.

Through this advertisement we are aiming to establish a talent pool of candidates for Utility Officer vacancies which become available over the next six months in various locations across Greater Manchester. The salary for this role is £22,947 - £26,844 per annum + 15% shift allowance.
