Chichester College Group works in collaboration with the National Office for Students’ Funded SLN: Uniconnect Project to widen participation of under-represented groups in Higher Education (). The Project is responsible for designing and delivering a range of activities and interventions to support young people and adults to progress into higher level learning such as Higher Education (Level 4-Level 6) or Higher Apprenticeships.

If you are passionate about supporting students to achieve their potential and remove barriers to participation in higher level learning, then this could be the role for you. You would be joining an established team who share your enthusiasm and drive to ensure that students from any background can develop the academic and personal skills to succeed in their chosen fields.

We are looking for an individual who has experience of working with a wide range of students in an educational setting preferably with knowledge / experience of working with groups that are under-represented in Higher Education, and an understanding of the barriers to progression that they may encounter. The role may suit a recent graduate with experience of the Higher Education Sector. Ideally you will have effective coaching and mentoring skills, and the ability to build trust and respect with a range of stakeholders, and be an excellent team player with personal integrity and empathy. You will have proven communication skills including the ability to create innovative marketing materials and engaging enrichment activities, both face to face and online.

There is a strong focus on evaluation and “what works” within the project and you will therefore need to be able to analyse data and produce coherent and professional reports, so a good understanding of data handling is required. Working knowledge of a range of software including Office 365, particularly Excel, Teams and One Drive or willingness to develop would be a distinct advantage. A Level 2 qualification in Maths and English, together with Level 3 qualifications are essential. A degree level qualification would be useful as would a qualification in Information and Guidance (IAG).

The role will require travel across CCG sites, and there is occasional requirement for evening / weekend work.

This post is fixed term until 31 July 2022.
