A-Level Essay Writing Support Mentors
(Approximately 10-15 hours per week Casual, hourly paid. There is likely to be work available from February –May, term-time only). £15 per hour.
The college is seeking to recruit well-qualified and highly-motivated mentors to work with AS and A level students in order to develop and improve the general and subject-specific essay-writing skills of humanities students. Students will be following a range of courses, including History, Politics, Sociology, Geography, RS, Law and English, amongst others.
You will:
- Be an excellent communicator who is capable of motivating others.
- Be pro-active in gaining an understanding of the assessment objectives of the qualifications you will be supporting students with.
- Have a good knowledge of the skills required for success in AS/A level essay-based subjects and the ability to develop these skills in students.
- Ideally have an in depth knowledge of at least one A level humanities subject.
We anticipate appointing 2-3 people to this position, dependent upon the subject background, experience and available working hours of the successful candidates.
