Job Title:        Learner Communications Officer

Contract:       Full Time, Fixed Term until July 2022  

Salary:            £23,929 - £25,971 pro rata per annum

Location:       Cardiff and Vale College

 

Cardiff and Vale College are looking for a Learner Communications Officer  based within our City Centre Campus but with the expectation to cover other campuses as and when needed.

 

The successful candidates for the posts will be primarily responsible for working alongside the Dean of Learner Journey and Communications Manager and in collaboration with Learner Services and other key areas across the college to plan and implement a calendar of central communications for all learners based on their entire learner journey – including core communications messages/ campaigns/ advice and guidance and the delivery of these via a range of communication channels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Write accurate, easy to understand and engaging copy which adheres to the College’s tone of voice and works for all learners, for a range of online and offline communications channels.
  • Work with teams and key staff across the College to draw out and analyse key, sometimes complex information, and translate this it into understandable and relatable messages or instructions for learners that fits with the overall approach to learner communications.
  • Work with the Communications Manager on core messages to go to students, staff and the wider community simultaneously to ensure consistent and timely communication for all.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough and detailed understanding of the all student communications channels, becoming the College ‘expert’ for this. This will include the MyCAVC App, Student Portal,live chat, Student Emails, the text messaging service, mailshots and the development of innovative new technologies including the ‘chatbot’ – understanding the capabilities and most appropriate use of each.

 

The successful candidate will be educated to HE level or equivalent in a relevant area and have evidence of continuous professional development.
