We are now recruiting to Practitioner roles in the South Hub.

Barnet Family Services launched its newly configured 0-19 Early Help Service on 1 October 2018. Our new model integrates all early help support into a single service, based in three locality hubs across the borough, which are shared with other professionals working in the early help system.

Our Early Help services are designed to put the child first and promote resilience in children, young people and families. Working to promote positive parenting and the promotion of pro-social behaviours at home, school and in the community, the 0-19 Early Help service will provide timely and effective early intervention which prevents situations from escalating with the aim of enabling families to flourish.

The focus of the role is to build resilience in families using key tools such as Signs of Safety, Asset plus, and the Graded Care Profile, to enhance positive parenting and improve outcomes for children.

The post holder will be required to support the delivery of high quality one-to-one and group work interventions for children, young people and families whilst developing professional knowledge and skills of the 0-19 practice. You will need to demonstrate that you have experience in direct work with families and the ability to provide comprehensive support to safeguard and promote the welfare of children within their homes.

You will take responsibility for your own caseload, including prioritising tasks, the keeping of accurate case records, and the completion and updating of risk assessments relating to service provision. You will receive on going supervision and relevant training to further develop your skills.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable skills including an understanding or experience of Youth work to apply with children and young people across the 0-19 age range, and families. We are particularly looking for people who are dynamic, enthusiastic and keen to develop themselves. If you have a passion for creativity and enjoy working in challenging environments, we are keen to hear from you

Successful applicants will need to be able to take up the post as soon as possible
