Are you a highly organised, hardworking individual with great purchasing and negotiation skills? Would you like to work within a busy in-house design team managing the print procurement and maintaining job records?

TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

As Print Buyer and Production Assistant you will job share for two and a half days per week (Wednesday to Friday) with the existing post holder providing support to the design team, buying print and associated materials, and effectively maintaining records for all projects produced by the studio.

You will liaise with the designers, external suppliers and internal client departments, obtaining quotes, agreeing production processes and schedules, to ensure each order is placed and delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.

Experience of working in a print-related or purchasing environment, and the ability to prioritise workloads is essential. You should also be a great communicator, highly efficient at maintaining records and able to manage fluctuating demands.

The work of the design team is very varied and each day is different. This is a great opportunity to work in a creative environment and to be part of a growing team.

The working hours for this role are 18.5 per week and based on this the pro rata salary is £10,607 - £11,473 per annum. The full time salary for this role is £21,214 - £22,947.

In return, as well as a competitive salary, we also offer a range of fantastic benefits, such as:

  • Free Rail or Metrolink travel to and from work within the Greater Manchester boundary
  • Free bus travel within Greater Manchester
  • 27 days holiday per annum
  • Access to the local government pension scheme

At TfGM we encourage candidates to discuss flexible working options at any stage of the recruitment process.

We welcome and encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation.  We are actively building a diverse workforce and want to create an inclusive environment as we recognise the importance of our workforce reflecting the communities we serve.

If you believe you have the skills and experience, we would really like to hear from you!
