Teacher of Geography

We are seeking to recruit a full time Teacher of Geography, however part time applications will be considered.

The new Teacher will join and contribute to the continued development of a high-achieving, popular and forward-thinking department. You will be a passionate, dynamic and creative individual, able to foster high standards of teaching, learning and feedback. The department, situated in the heart of the campus, has four dedicated classrooms with interactive whiteboards. It is a paperless environmentally friendly department and so understanding of OneNote is an advantage. The successful candidate will join a team of three full- and two part-time Geography specialists. You will be expected to teach and deliver Geography lessons from Year 7 through to A Level.

We have a full programme of fieldwork activities, ranging from local to overseas trips including West Wittering and Iceland. The department has a thriving enrichment programme, including Geography clubs and undergraduate lectures at Royal Holloway University. We are one of the most popular subjects selected both at GCSE and A-Level. The department follows the Cambridge Assessment International Examination specifications 0976 at GCSE and 9696 at A-Level. Each year several of our pupils go on to study Geography and related subjects at university.

You will be expected to carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the College’s policies under the direction of the Headmaster.

Teaching at LWC requires that members of the academic staff be willing to contribute fully to the life of the College. This includes tutoring, co-curricular involvement, boarding house duties, cover duties and attending parents’ evenings for the year groups taught. Liaison with parents is included in the sphere of the teacher’s responsibilities.

ECT's are welcomed to apply.

The closing date for applications is midday on Sunday 5th May, with interviews taking place on Thursday 16th May.
