We are looking to appoint a friendly, outgoing and experienced financial controller to join our central finance team. The successful candidate will be qualified to CAAB or CIMA or be time service QBE with proven experience of working at this level. The post holder will work with the Head of Finance to develop and maintain appropriate financial controls across the Trust, supervising the processing of all financial data to ensure, accuracy and appropriateness in line with finance regulations and external regulators.

Whilst the primary location will be the Trust offices at George Spencer Academy you may be required to visit or work from other schools within the Trust.

Overall Purpose of Post

The post holder will support the Head of Finance to ensure appropriate financial controls across the Trust and to further develop systems and process to better able timely and accurate management reporting to stakeholders across the organisation. In addition, the post holder will provide oversight of the delegated financial management of the academies to ensure sound and appropriate financial governance and risk management arrangements are in place.

The post holder will supervise the processing of all financial transactions through the financial and accountancy systems to ensure the provision of accurate and timely financial information to Head of Finance, Finance Managers, the academies management, Spencer Academies Trust and external bodies as required.

The post holder will line manage posts within the Finance Team, as appropriate to the team structure at the time and will support the Head of Finance with performance management, ensure appropriate performance of all team members and where appropriate support under performance in line with SAT policies.
