We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing team.

The Role:

• To ensure marketing content is available and accurate, in order to deliver our marketing activity – includes copywriting, film production and photography, updating CMS and social media – liaising with internal teams as appropriate.
• To manage the Chester Zoo image and film library to ensure that the team have access to high quality assets in line with the Chester Zoo brand guidelines.
• To support the delivery of tourism and community marketing and fundraising projects by attending exhibitions, events and providing content as required to key partners.
• To support the Marketing Designer, Marketing Officer and third party agencies to ensure that our print and publications are of the highest quality, often taking briefs from internal customers and delivering ad-hoc marketing projects – including print distribution plans.
• To manage levels of print stocks and oversee the delivery of print distribution plans
• To provide administrative support to the Marketing team for all visitor, stakeholder and internal communications activity.
• Provide support to the Head of Marketing to ensure budgets are effectively managed through tracking spend and providing regular reports.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a marketing qualification or equivalent experience
• Have a good understanding of marketing principles and channels
• Be a confident digital native with the ability to use content management systems and have a good understanding of social media for marketing
• Be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office applications
• Have good verbal presentation skills, be confident and comfortable representing the zoo at events, exhibitions and meetings
• Be a skilled copy writer with a good attention to detail and the ability to adapt your writing style for different audiences
• Have good organisational skills and an ability to prioritise your work
• Have an interest in Chester Zoo’s mission relating to conservation and education

Desirable:

• Knowledge of film editing software and photography skills

Hours of work are 40 hours per week from 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch break. Some weekend and evening working may be required, for which time off in lieu will be given.
