Outreach Worker – Tower Hamlets SORT
(Based out of our central office in Tower Hill)
£27,648 - £31,142 per annum
37.5 hours per week
We’re looking to recruit an Outreach Worker to join the Tower Hamlets Street Outreach Response Team (SORT) in providing outreach support for rough sleepers across the borough of Tower Hamlets.In this role you will be responsible for conducting outreach work with partner agencies and co-workers; to verify new rough sleepers, to enact the No Second Night Out model and engage with people sleeping rough. You will also be required to engage with rough sleepers to conduct welfare checks and deliver service related messages.
The role involves building networks with local authorities, voluntary and faith based agencies, outreach teams, hostels and private landlords to increase the choice and opportunities for housing and other support for rough sleepers.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will be confident in conducting assessments on the street and in day centre settings, and able to lead street based outreach shifts alongside volunteers. You will have experience in dealing with rough sleepers with multiple needs and able to work with challenging behaviour.
Flexibility is required as you will be working outreach shifts at unsocial hours in accordance with the rota (seven day). Early shifts are from 5am – 9am and late shifts are from 8pm – 2am. Please note you will also be required to hold a full, clean Driving Licence.
