Milton Keynes College are looking to appoint two experts within the field of Engineering to motivate and inspire learners through planning and delivering effective learning programmes for Apprentices.
Our Workplace Trainers play an integral role in the success of our Apprentices by ensuring quality learning and assessment takes place throughout the Apprenticeship. Engineering is an increasingly popular field and attracts a high number of learners each year. Milton Keynes is a fast growing town with a large proportion of local employers growing their Apprenticeship offering enticing the Engineers of the future into their organisations. With Engineering opportunities on a global scale, our Apprentices are keen to succeed and develop their skills for their exciting career aspirations. Our Apprentices are specialising in Mechanical, Electrical and Mechatronic Engineering.
As a Workplace Trainer, your role will be dynamic, varied and highly rewarding working with employers, Apprentices and curriculum teams. You will be assigned a caseload of Apprentices to train and assess throughout the evolution of their Apprenticeship. You will maintain a strong working relationship with your Apprentices and employer links to ensure that Apprenticeship framework standards are being met and that Apprentices are progressing to complete on time.
As a successful candidate you will have…
- A minimum of a level 3 qualification in Engineering
- A degree in Engineering, or the desire to work towards achieving this
- A teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards this
- An Assessor/Verifier Award, or be willing to work towards this
- Relevant Engineering experience and/or occupational competence in the subject
- Experience of designing and delivering workplace skills and knowledge training sessions
- Experience of assessing NVQ/Apprenticeships
- The ability to assess/train creatively, adapting to the needs of a variety of students and be willing to explore new learning strategies
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Good organisational skills and be able to meet deadlines
Location: Milton Keynes
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: Circa £30,000 per annum
