The company:
ScanTech is a leading service provider to the energy, resources, renewables and oil & gas markets world wide, supplying air, steam and safety products.

The role: 
The Accounts Payable Clerk, will perform and supervise all aspects of purchase ledger and expenses ledger processing, to ensure that purchase invoices and staff expense claims across three different entities are processed and paid on a timely and accurate basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of the Purchase Ledger Assistant.
  • Review invoices to ensure they are appropriately authorised and coded.
  • Monitor correct authorisation and coding of expense claims.
  • Working knowledge of VAT regulations to ensure accurate input VAT recovery.
  • Prepare and review BACS runs and cheque payments.
  • Bank reconciliations and posting cash book journals.
  • Ensure supplier statements are reconciled regularly.
  • Provide analysis on the profile of the purchase ledger.
  • Ensure the integrity of purchase ledger system.
  • Monitor the ledger for debit balances and duplicate payments.
  • Ensure supplier set up procedures are followed.
  • Prepare nominal ledger journals accruals and prepayments etc.
  • Ensure all internal controls are adhered to.
  • Undertake ad-hoc financial projects as the need arises

Qualifications and experience:

  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience in supervising staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative where required.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
