Digital Surveyor

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • To capture survey data in a variety of global industrial and architectural locations on and off-shore through the use of digital survey techniques primarily photogrammetry and photography in a professional and competent manner. To process and compile this data for delivery to our clients through R2S or other software packages.

 

GENERIC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

  • Ensure the safety of yourself, your team and all other site workers by following safe working practises at all times.
  • Support the team/project lead on designated capture projects to complete the project brief.
  • Take responsibility for designated areas of the team’s overall task/project or specific tasks/projects.
  • Share in the responsibility for the overall team task/project and be responsible for carrying out designated work to the expected quality and time line.
  • Quality assess your own and other team members work as designated.
  • Liaise with internal and external contacts in a professional and timely manner.
  • Responsible for reviewing own personal development.

 

POSITION IN ORGANISATION

  • Reports to the Digital Survey Manager
  • Liaises closely with team/project leads, other digital surveyors and media builders.

 

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Digital surveying
  • Undertake assigned digital surveys using specified techniques including, spherical photography, photogrammetry, laser scanning and other methods.
  • Maintain, test, and repair equipment particularly before and after dispatch.
  • Practice and develop survey techniques as directed.
  • Manage and control survey data using relevant computer applications, procedures and back-ups.
  • Travel globally to survey sites, typically between 2 to 31 days out of office.
  • Liaise with and maintain good working relationships with site contacts.
  • Work in adherence to company and site health and safety policies, work practices, and control of work systems.
  • Complete technical and work safety training courses as assigned.
  • Maintain good working health and fitness for the role and attend allocated medicals.
  • Support the project/team lead on site with other tasks.
  • Processing and compiling survey data
  • Support the project/team lead on allocated project or other tasks.
  • Maintain data management structures and procedures.
  • Process and correct captured survey data such as spherical images and point clouds.
  • Compile the survey and other data into the R2S application or other client delivery app.
  • Follow and help develop working processes.
  • Quality assure your own and colleagues work.
  • Practice and develop relevant application skills.
  • Client user training and support
  • Provide basic user email, telephone and video linked support for the R2S application.
  • Visit client offices to give user training with support services
  • Help develop user training and support documentation and media.
