MK College Group have an exciting opportunity for an innovative Maths Lecturer to join the Education Team based at HMP Bullingdon for a 1-year Fixed Term Contract.
As a Maths Lecturer, you will be delivering pre-entry level, up to level 2 Maths Classes to diverse groups of learners who are based within the prison. You will be actively engaging prison-based learners with creative classes and resources. Many of the learners have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will often have had a negative experience with education. As a successful Maths Teacher, you will inspire and motivate learners to achieve success and provide them with a positive learning experience.
This role involves connecting with learners in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to feel more secure within education and encouraging them throughout their courses.
The average class consist of 8 learners and the sessions are approximately 3 hours long. Your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative and imaginative. This role will also involve some 1:1 sessions with learners. A requirement of the role is to work in al areas of the prison including the wings as well as the classroom.

ABOUT HMP BULLINGDON
Bullingdon Community Prison is situated near the village of Arncott in Bicester, Oxon. HMP Bullingdon is a complex prison that has a number of functions. It is categorized as a local category B prison which a category C resettlement function. HMP Bullingdon has the capacity to hold 1114 offenders all serving a range of sentences from remand to life, with the average length of stay between 3 and 6 months.
The College works closely with our prison colleagues to deliver short to medium courses that help prepare learners for employment upon release. Courses include: English and Maths Functional Skills (Entry 2 to Level 2), ICT, Cookery, Hospitality, Business, Self-Employment, Painting & Decorating, Horticulture, Paving, Mentoring and Barbering.
