The Salvation Army International Heritage Centre preserves and promotes the rich history of The Salvation Army from its origins in the 1860s to the present. Our extensive collections document the varied work of this global Christian church and charity in the UK and in over 130 countries worldwide. The International Heritage Centre comprises an archive, reference library and two museums, as well as being responsible for records management in the UK & Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
As Archives and Records Apprentice, you will develop professional skills by working with the Heritage Centre’s archives and records management teams to ensure that The Salvation Army’s modern and historical records are well managed, accessible, and preserved for the duration of their lifecycle. You will work towards the Archives and Records Management Level 7 apprenticeship, a 42-month programme (36-month learning period and six-month assessment period) delivered by Westminster Adult Education Service.

As the successful candidate, you will be enthusiastic to pursue a career in archives or records management and dedicated to successfully completing your apprenticeship training. You will be able to demonstrate the strong interpersonal and communication skills required to provide excellent service to both external archive users and colleagues across the organisation.
