From Alexander McQueen to Winnie The Pooh, from South Kensington to Shenzhen, the V&A – the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance – is at one of the most exciting points in its history.   The V&A is looking for a Deputy Head of Press to join its busy Marketing and Communications team as a 12 month maternity cover, leading on all press and media campaigns for the V&A’s world-famous temporary exhibition programme, as well as the V&A’s permanent collections.

In this role, you will lead on campaigns including the upcoming Frida Kahlo and Videogames exhibitions, the relaunch of the V&A’s photography collections and Cast Courts, and Friday Late and Fashion in Motion.   Reporting to the Head of Press and Corporate Communications, this role line manages several members of the communications team, as well as overseeing news announcements across the V&A, integrating digital comms into V&A campaigns, and handling responses to media queries and issues.   We are looking for someone with a proven track record in delivering high-impact campaigns for major organisations or brands, with extensive press experience and media contacts, great management and interpersonal skills, a keen awareness of digital communications, and exceptional writing and briefing skills.
