Woburn Safari Park is home to some of the world's most magnificent and endangered animals.  The Park consists of a Foot Safari, Road Safari and catering outlets and is enjoyed by families looking for a fun day out.  It is also home to The Safari Lodge, a unique events venue.

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated, reliable and confident team member to join our successful Animal Encounters section, based in the Foot Safari area.  This position is offered on a full time, permanent basis.

You will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment for both yourself and the visitors by adhering to associated risk assessments and protocols without exception.

Working as part of the demonstrations team, you will deliver high quality educational and entertaining displays of natural behaviours. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with and train an exciting collection of birds, reptiles and mammals, including, but not exclusively; raptors, psittacines and Californian sea lions; and be a part of continually developing and improving the daily displays.

The zoo animal management qualification (DMZAA) is desirable but not essential for this position, however; you would be expected to work towards achieving this.

The successful applicant will need to be a highly motivated, flexible, hard working individual who has a good understanding of animal behaviour and previous experience training and working with a variety of species. The ability to take part in public presentations is essential as well as exceptional animal husbandry skills, high standards of animal care and excellent communication skills.

Our ideal candidate will have significant experience with the species we hold, however those candidates’ with comparable experience will be considered.

Preference will be given to applicants that have worked and/or volunteered within the following fields: Zoos, Safari Parks, Farming/Agriculture & Equestrian.
