Developing future leaders

James Fisher and Sons plc’s (James Fisher) graduate development programme aims to identify remarkable students and graduates to become its future leaders. Over the course of the programme candidates will work across the James Fisher group of companies and gain exposure to a number of different companies and functions, including a variety of industries and challenging roles. Upon completion of the programme it is expected that the successful candidates will then  take on a leadership position within the group to help drive change and transformation.

We’re looking for graduates who are analytically and commercially minded and who want to be challenged from day one. The programme

The programme will involve a variety of roles that are challenging and exciting, and that have a direct impact on business performance. We give graduates direct responsibility in roles at an early stage to advance your experience and learning in a supportive environment. These could be part of an operations team contributing to high profile tenders or managing your own project in various industries, all of which will be unique experiences tailored to your strengths

Following the completion of the scheme you will have had exposure to a number of significant functions within the group such as: project management, operations, sales, commercial management to advance your capabilities.

To support you, you will receive on the job training to develop your skills within your role, as well as being provided with formal, ongoing management and leadership training. At the completion of the course we will help identify the right full-time position to continue your leadership journey within James Fisher.

What we’re looking for

You will have a minimum 2:1 degree in any subject from a recognised university, as well as  demonstrated leadership qualities, strong commercial awareness and skills in influencing and negotiation. We have locations throughout the UK and internationally, therefore you will be likely be based in different locations over the course of the programme and have an interest in international opportunities. Fluency in a second language would be an advantage.
