THE ROLE
A key member of the team responsible for delivering and developing our new visitor offer at Hainault Forest, predominantly through the running of our brand new Woodland Trust Visitor Centre. The role is responsible for helping to staff the visitor centre on a rota basis; providing an important meet & greet function to visitors as well as signposting, dealing with enquiries, recruiting members and undertaking retail transactions. The role will lead on the retail area of our visitor centre, ensuring our product offers and visual merchandising are reflective of our audience, resonate with the site and our cause, encourage repeat visits and ultimately generate income for the Trust.

You’ll need to have some previous retail experience to take on this role, be able to deliver excellent customer care, and be confident talking to all kinds of people. An eye for detail will also be important. You’ll be flexible and able to work as part of a small, dedicated team, and have an interest in the natural world – and in getting others interested in it too!

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT BY JOINING A TEAM AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE
There’s no other organisation like the Woodland Trust. Joining the team you will be making your contribution to tackling the nature and climate crisis. In return, we recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a contributory pension, life assurance, good holiday allowance and the opportunity to work flexibly from home.

OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
At the Woodland Trust, we want to reflect and represent the full richness of diversity in the UK. Fewer of our employees are Black, Asian or minority ethnic; disabled; from lower socio-economic backgrounds or under 25; so we are particularly keen to receive your application if you are from one or more of these groups. We can also discuss anything you may need to achieve your full potential at any stage of the process. We assess your application solely on your demonstrated suitability for the job. Nothing else.
