East Metro Youth Services, Toronto Lead Agency and a fully accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre serving adolescents and their families in East Toronto for over 40 years, is inviting applications for the following full time, contract position:

Clinical Manager, Brief Services

(1 year, full time contract covering a maternity leave beginning approximately November 2017)

As a representative of the Access & Counselling Program you will provide clinical leadership via staff supervision and program management.   You will provide oversight, supervision and management of two walk in clinics.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to professional development and implementation of evidence based treatments.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and clinical oversight of our Brief Therapy Services programs, including our 'what's up' walk in mental health services at Scarborough and our walk in that is part of a collaborative with CAMH in the east end on the Danforth;
  • Provide high quality clinical supervision to an experienced team of individual and family therapists.
  • Foster a team environment that optimizes treatment outcomes for adolescents and their families within a strengths-based model of practice.
  • Review all clinical reports ensuring that they meet Canadian Centre for Accreditation standards.
  • Keep abreast of recent literature and research as they relate to treatment of youth and families.
  • "Transfer knowledge" with regard to evidence based and promising practice treatment models, particularly Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology or equivalent;
  • Member of a registered professional association for practitioners in clinical therapy;
  • Minimum of 5 years direct service experience, preferably within children's mental health;
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory related experience;
  • Familiarity with a range of evidence based treatment modalities and approaches, with a specific focus on brief solution focused therapy;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Familiarity with Children's Mental Health Ontario and the Canadian Centre for Accreditation program;
  • Ability to work and support others in the context of a culturally diverse working environment;
  • Demonstrated competency in verbal and written communication as well as computer literacy;
  • Preferred candidates will be bilingual in both official languages; and,
  • Vulnerable sector screening police background check.
