We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the IT department.

This is an exciting time to join the V&A team. Technology is integral to the operation of the V&A and plays a fundamental role in enabling the Museum to achieve its strategic and creative objectives. The V&A IT team is responsible for supporting a wide range of technology, ensuring key technology services are delivered in line with business requirements.

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for deployment of all code into the V&A estate of Linux-based systems. You will collaborate with both internal and external software developers and with the V&A IT Infrastructure team to manage code release, service and system deployment in V&A hosted and third-party hosted environments.  You will be responsible for fundamentally changing our ability to move rapidly while maintaining stability and security.

You will ensure that we deliver the technical environments necessary to support the development teams and the operations teams alike. You will make sure that all Cyber Essentials and other security and change policies are adhered to while at the same time ensuring we are able to deliver the resources needed to move quickly while ensuring stability and security.

The role includes three key areas that you must deliver: process re-engineering, collaboration and communication and coding/scripting. You will need to show that you have worked within a DevOps environment, preferably in a situation of transition from traditional operations to one of DevOps.  You need to show you are adaptive and able to deal with multiple urgent situations simultaneously and capable of managing expectations while keeping all involved parties informed.
