We currently have a number of exciting vacancies within our Retail team on a seasonal basis.
The Role:
We paint thousands of little (and not so little!) faces and create thousands of pieces of ‘Handimal’ art every year at the zoo, so applicants for these roles need to be creative, have some artistic flair, be comfortable in a fast paced & busy environment and really enjoy interacting with children.
The successful candidates will:
- be passionate about excellent customer service and be a strong communicator
- be confident, flexible and approachable with a “can do” attitude
- have excellent attention to detail, not just for creating the face paints and Handimals, but also completing the necessary hygiene checks and records
- ideally have previous face painting experience
Flexibility in these roles is key; therefore candidates must have the following availability:
- able to work up to 5 days out of 7 including weekends and Bank Holidays
- able to work weekends (including Bank Holidays) and School Holidays
Contracts will be offered on a minimum 8 hour per week basis depending on availability, but hours of work may be significantly more during busy periods.
We are pleased to confirm that we will be offering higher than the National Living Wage regardless of age, the rate of pay for this role will be £7.90 per hour.

Candidates must be aged 16 or over and have completed their Year 11 studies.
