Cyclo-Cross Co-ordinator- Great Britain Cycling Team

The Great Britain Cycling Team (GBCT) is responsible for managing British representation at the Cyclo-Cross UCI World Championships, UCI World Cups & the UEC European Championships. Reporting into the Cyclo-Cross Co-ordinator successful candidate would act as Team Manager for the GBCT Cyclo-Cross Team and would lead on all administration and strategy formulation for GBCT Cyclo-Cross activity. The role is contracted for 50 days throughout the year with variable hours and the need to attend identified national and international events.

The role of the Cyclo-Cross Co-ordinator is all about:

  • working with riders, British Cycling staff, volunteers and external stakeholders to continue growing the performance of British Cycling on the World and European stage; and
  • upholding the highest standards of communication and organisation to manage all GBCT Cyclo-Cross activities

What you need is:

We are keen to hear from those with experience in Cyclo-Cross or cycling team management/administration. Applicants without such experience may still be considered for the post, provided a high level of general competence and a strong willingness to learn can be evidenced. Applicants will need to possess:

  • Knowledge of the technical requirements of Cyclo-Cross
  • Experience of competing in Cyclo-Cross and/or coaching or supporting Cyclo-Cross athletes from Junior to Elite level
  • Good understanding of the UCI and UEC Cyclo-Cross competition programmes and the British Cyclo-Cross circuit
  • Knowledge of the current Cyclo-Cross talent pool in the UK
  • British Cycling Level 2 coaching qualification would be desirable
  • Up to date First Aid qualification
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Experience of volunteer management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with members of the Cyclo-Cross community
  • High level of planning and organisational skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office
  • Passion for the sport of cycling, specifically Cyclo-Cross
  • Enthusiasm, commitment and creativity
  • Self-driven with a high level of discipline and work ethic
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
  • The ability to travel between sites in the UK and abroad

This is a profession which is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check will be required.

Applicants must hold a current full driving licence, which permits the holder to drive in the UK and abroad.
