Are you passionate about helping people to achieve their potential? Would you relish an opportunity to play an influential role in helping to ensure that apprentices have a quality experience which supports their development and future career progression?

We are seeking an Apprenticeship Programmes Co-ordinator who is passionate about future talent to support the delivery and success of the structured apprenticeship programmes across Transport for Greater Manchester.

TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

You will support the development of our apprenticeship programmes across a wide range of levels and apprenticeship standards, liaising with apprentices, their leaders and mentors to ensure they are achieving milestones, meeting objectives and having an excellent experience. You will engage with training providers to identify the most appropriate and up to date solutions to maximise the use of our Apprenticeship Levy, recording and monitoring our activities, and contributing to the development of structured programmes to ensure our apprenticeship opportunities develop, stretch and challenge both our current employees and those new to the organisation. You will also co-ordinate work placement opportunities and programmes which aim to engage a diverse range of candidates for our opportunities.

You will have substantial experience of providing advice and support in a HR, recruitment or learning and development environment. You will have experience of working in a customer centred role, prioritising activities and working to defined deadlines. You will ideally have experience and understanding of the apprenticeship levy and apprenticeship training activities.

In return, as well as a competitive salary, we also offer a range of fantastic benefits, such as:

  • Free Rail or Metrolink travel to and from work
  • Free bus travel within Greater Manchester
  • 27 days holiday per annum
  • Access to the local government pension scheme

At TfGM we encourage candidates to discuss flexible working options at any stage of the recruitment process.

The salary range for this role is £22,947 to £26,844 per annum.  Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience. We welcome and encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation.  We are actively building a diverse workforce and want to create an inclusive environment as we recognise the importance of our workforce reflecting the communities we serve.
