Learning Technician – Media, Music and Performing Arts

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week
Salary: PTVH

About the role

A Learning Technician is required to provide technical and appropriate support to other technicians, tutors and students in a variety of learning situations across the Media, Music and Performing Arts curriculum area.

The role will include working closely with, and supporting our part time permanent Music technician and our full time permanent Performing Arts/theatre technician. You would also be overseeing the equipment and resources in the Media department.

The role would mainly take place within college hours (8.30-17.00 Monday to Friday) but there may be occasions when you would be asked to help with evening and weekend events.

Suitable candidates will have a range of knowledge and practical skills across the Media, Music and/or Performing Arts disciplines. A good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Digital SLR cameras, Video cameras and Mac operating systems would be preferred. Knowledge of music and theatre audio/visual equipment would also be advantageous.

The post holder will work flexibly in the curriculum area, but may be called upon to work in other curriculum areas as appropriate to their skills.
