Deputy Housemistress - Annexe to Junior Boarding Houses 

Full time, residential, term time only (35 weeks) 53 hours plus four overnight duties per week (the overnight duties will be two front line and two back up per week)

Shift pattern involving days, evenings and weekends

Salary: £21,830 to £24,246 per annum (£32,434 to £36,024 FTE) depending on skills, qualifications and experience plus holiday pay at 15.55%

Plus, an allowance of up to £6,186 per annum for four overnight duties per week including holiday pay

 

To be considered for the role of Deputy Housemistress you will have the ability to supervise, encourage and motivate staff and to mentor and support girls in the house. You will have responsibility for the smooth running of the annexe and may deputise for the Houseparent in their absence. You will be responsible for coordinating and prioritising work schedules and delegating effectively to the team and also central in ensuring continuity of care between the annexe and main house. Excellent administrative skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships are a must.  An academic background is desirable.   

At Cheltenham Ladies’ College, we aim to provide a strong support network for every one of our pupils. With effect from September 2022, around 720 girls will board with us in one of our 11 sixth form and junior Boarding Houses and your role will be at the heart of our pastoral care as you join one of the dedicated, professional teams working under the direction of a Houseparent.

In addition to looking after our girls’ wellbeing, you will help with the day-to-day running of the house and more. There is a range of work patterns available, with allocated time off. As part of a close-knit community in the centre of Cheltenham, you will also have easy access to all of the facilities that this thriving town has to offer.
