Security Officer - DAYS & NIGHTS - Various Shifts

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer, who will demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to both our clients and service users.

It is important that candidates possess good customer service skills, pay attention to details and possess security experience preferably within an Educational environment.

INFORMATION

  • Position: Security Officer
  • Location: South East London (SE14)
  • Pay Rate: £10.55 per hour
  • Hours: Average 40 hours per week +
  • Shifts: Various days, nights & weekends – 12-hour shifts

Job Role / Requirements:

  • SIA Door Supervisor Licence required
  • CCTV licence would be a bonus
  • 3 years Security Experience is required – Corporate or University sector is ideal
  • To be readily available to cover shifts when needed
  • Reliable, Responsible and Punctual
  • To have a smart appearance befitting the company
  • Excellent communication both written & verbal and IT skills
  • Excellent levels of customer service at all times
  • First Aid would be desirable

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide day & night security patrols throughout the campus/ buildings
  • To be vigilant, provide a high visibility presence and to deter and prevent crime.
  • Responsible for the 24 hour Security of the University Campus
  • To man the Access Control Hub and main Reception/front desk/back of house; signing in staff, contractors, cleaners and visitors, fire evacuation marshalling
  • Carry out student I.D and random spot checks
  • Meeting & greet all visitors and students - Respond to requests for assistance from Staff, Students, Visitors and Contractors.
  • Officers are required to lock and unlock the building when necessary. Officers must have a good understanding of how to operate the intruder alarm panels and know how to respond to intruder alarm activations and to determine the appropriate course of action
  • To receive deliveries and deal with onsite contractors
  • Respond to all emergencies in accordance with the Emergency Procedures.
  • To respond to all Security access control alarms/alerts and liaise with management.
  • The post holder has a general duty of care for their own health, (lone working) safety and wellbeing and that of work colleagues, visitors (VIP) and contractors to the campus.
  • To observe the rules, policies, procedures and standards of the site
