Housing Management Assistant - Islington Mental Health Services
£19,597 - £20,893 per annum
37.5 hours per week
Have you considered a career supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society?
Would you like to be part of an organisation that provides a bed and support to more than 2,700 people a night who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness?
If the answer is yes, St Mungo’s may have the perfect opportunity for you.
We are looking to recruit a Housing Management Assistant to support the smooth running of our Mental Health Services in Islington. We provide accommodation with support to 40 men and women whose mental health has put them at risk of homelessness. In this pivotal role you will provide support and basic housing management to residents with medium to high support needs. You'll be responsible for carrying out health and safety checks, reporting repairs, and providing housing related support to vulnerable people.
The role will allow you to learn about how housing related support works in practice, and will enable you to develop the skills required to work effectively with our clients. You do not need to have direct, previous experience, provided you can demonstrate the necessary transferable skills required for the role. You will need to have a basic level of numeracy and literacy and some understanding of the issues that affect our client group. Above all we are looking for conscientious, hard-working individuals who have a genuine interest in working with vulnerable people.
In joining the leading organisation in the sector you will be offered a range of benefits including competitive pay, a pension scheme, staff discount schemes and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. Your career development is of paramount importance to us and we will provide you with a wide range of learning and development opportunities to support your growth.
This is a fantastic, entry-level role for someone looking to gain the skills and experience required to develop their career in the sector and progress to more senior positions within the organisation, as a number of our current managers have done following a similar career pathway.
