Salary: £12 Per Hour

Working hours:   15 hours per week – 3 hours x 5 days Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (am) plus Wednesday evening or Saturday morning

Manchester Central Church are looking to recruit a Caretaker who will be responsible for care, maintenance and cleaning at our busy church building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Care and maintenance of the inside and outside of the building.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, lighting, heating and ventilation to the required standard.
  • To unlock and lock the building when required.
  • Move chairs/tables/equipment as required to fulfil cleaning requirements.
  • Maintain records to ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Small maintenance and admin jobs, liaising with contractors as necessary.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Awareness of health and Safety regulations.
  • Experience of cleaning in a professional environment with knowledge of the proper use of cleaning equipment.
  • Basic standard of literacy, numeracy and IT skills (e.g. email and online ordering).
  • Practical skills for operating a building, including ability to meet the physical demands of the role and basic maintenance skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, including lone working as necessary.
  • Good communication skills with an ability to engage with different groups of people.
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours.
