Project Worker – Female *

£24,135 - £27,648 per annum

37.5hrs per week

This post is based within a hostel accommodation that provides housing related support to vulnerable female adults who are currently involved in prostitution and / or present with a variety of complex needs. You will be joining a team dedicated to providing clients with a safe environment in which to build their confidence, promote opportunities for positive change and supports their recovery journey. This includes a focus on supporting the client to exit prostitution and supporting them to gain and maintain a greater level of independence ready for move on into more independent accommodation.

The role will involve undertaking key working activities such as referrals/interviews/booking in clients and housing management activities such as finances, resettlement and health and hygiene. You’ll also assist our clients to develop and care for themselves by providing advice and guidance on personal care and relevant life skills, and help them towards maintaining a greater level of independence.

To succeed, you should understand the needs and problems of homeless people and in particular the needs of women that have experienced an extensive amount of trauma, abuse and sexual exploitation. You should also possess good interpersonal and listening skills; in order to be able to establish an effective working relationship with clients. Good numeracy, I.T and written communication skills; which will include report writing and producing support plans are also required. You will also be familiar with the support services available to the client group and have an interest in strategic approaches and campaigns to end violence against women, such as the local Safer Lambeth VAWG strategy.

Flexibility is required, as you’ll be working a shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays.
