We currently have a number of exciting vacancies within our Food & Beverage team on a seasonal basis. We have positions starting in both the week commencing 10 May and week commencing 14 June 2021. All positions are expected to run until 18 September 2021.
The Role:
Food & Beverage at the zoo includes fast food restaurants, coffee shops, kiosks, a warehouse, a picnic parlour and a 450 seat street kitchen serving Indonesian inspired food. We are looking for candidates who are dynamic to work across these units. The roles include customer service, waiting on, food & drinks preparation, cash handling and cleaning. Assistants may also be required to work in The Oakfield, our own contemporary British pub/restaurant which was once home to the zoo’s founder George Mottershead and his family.
The ideal candidates will:
- be passionate about excellent customer service and be a strong communicator
- be confident, flexible and approachable with a “can do” attitude
Experience of working within a fast paced Food & Beverage environment, as well as experience of cash handling and using EPOS systems would be advantageous.
Flexibility in these roles is key, therefore candidates must have the following availability:
- able to work up to 5 days out of 7 including weekends and Bank Holidays, or
- able to work weekends (including Bank Holidays) and School Holidays
Contracts will be offered on a minimum 8 hour per week basis depending on availability, but hours of work may be significantly more during busy periods.
Candidates must be aged 16 or over and have completed their Year 11 studies at the proposed start date.
