At St Mungo’s our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.

Our No Second Night Out (NSNO) service, aims to rapidly intervene so that no one needs to sleep rough. We are currently expanding our work in our three assessment hubs to ensure as many rough sleepers as possible receive a rapid response, a full assessment of their needs and an offer of help to move away from rough sleeping.

In post you will ensure a safe and supportive environment at night and provide support to a team of Assessment and Reconnection Workers; carrying out high quality case work with rough sleepers who are in the assessment hub. You will support them with key tasks, such as conducting detailed initial assessments and supporting the development of re-connection plans to end someone’s rough sleeping.

To be successful you will have experience of working with vulnerable people and an understanding of the needs of street homeless people. You will also have experience of formally assessing client’s individual needs and options and experience of supporting people to address their needs through case management. Other requirements are knowledge of the welfare benefits and housing law relevant to single homeless people and proven ability to communicate and negotiate to a high level.

Flexibility is required as you will be working a night shift rota that includes weekends, Bank holidays and occasional day shifts for training and development purposes.
