Housing Management Assistant

£19,597 - £20,893 per annum

37.5 hours per week

The Hither Green Site is integral to the Lewisham Pathway. The service is commissioned to provide intensive support to people who have experienced/are experiencing a range of issues. These include: complex trauma, problematic alcohol use, problematic drug use, mental ill-health and physical ill-health.

The service is comprised of the following projects:

  • Spring Gardens (40 beds for clients with complex needs) (24 hour support).
  • Garden House (25 step down accommodation although the clients still require significant support) (24 hour support).
  • Arlington Flats (25 beds originally intended for key workers – currently undergoing restructure).

The team is looking to recruit a Housing Management Assistant on full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent basis to support the smooth running of the hostel.

The exact hours of this role have not been finalised. They are envisaged to be a fixed pattern Monday to Friday of 9-5 or possibly 8-4.

The post-holder will provide first contact, reception and basic housing management to our clients. You'll be responsible for controlling access to the building, dealing with emergencies, carrying out Health & Safety checks and reporting on any events or concerns. The role is intended to be a flexible resource.

To be successful in this post, you'll need to have a basic level of numeracy and literacy to be able to carry out administrative duties. An understanding of the issues that affect our clients and ability to display initiative in identifying action required and taking appropriate measures are essential for the successful post holder. A solution focused project, exceptional team working skills, the ability to maintain a positive outlook whilst working with what can be a challenging client group, responding rather than reacting to challenging situations are all essential to the role.

You will also be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality and be able to adapt your approach, to suit a variety of situations, individuals and groups.
