At St Mungo’s our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions. As a homelessness charity and housing association our clients are at the heart of what we do. We provide a bed and support to more than 2,500 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and work to end homelessness and rebuild lives.

We have a number of exciting opportunities for locum workers to join the organisation on a flexible working basis, based specifically across our Thurrock accommodation services. The services consists of 2 homeless hostels located in the heart of Grays, a floating support service, an outreach service and a housing first service based out of Charles Street hostel. We are looking to recruit locums across a variety of roles to ensure our services are providing the highest levels of care and support to our clients. These include project workers, outreach workers and housing first workers.

To succeed you will have a sound understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people and the ability to manage complex and sometimes challenging situations effectively. You will have excellent communication skills and be able maintain motivation for a high level of contact with clients and to adopt an assertive approach when required. Above all, we are looking for motivated, inspiring people who want to make a difference in the lives of those who have or are experiencing homelessness.
