We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, collaborative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Technical team!

You will be playing a critical role in a multidiscipline environment. This is your unique opportunity to be part of projects from concept through to full production, all under one roof.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • To design innovative life safety products that are optimised for high volume manufacturing, manual and automated assembly, robustness, reliability, and ease of installation.
  • Resolve design issues for new and existing product designs.
  • Extensive design knowledge of high-volume plastic injection moulded components and small metal fabrications.
  • Be able to effectively carry out DFMEAs and improve designs to remove any risks.
  • Be involved in simulations such as Finite Element Analysis (Static & Dynamic), Computational Fluid Dynamics, Raytracing, Tolerance and Mould Flow Analysis to optimise designs before manufacture.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate:

  • A methodical and efficient work ethic with excellent attention to detail.
  • Be able to understand complex links between various issues, identifying any areas that may have conflicting requirements.
  • A self-starter with a proven ability to work independently without close supervision, seeing things through to completion.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively.
  • A working knowledge of Six Sigma processes
