Fairport Tunnelling Technologies (FTT) became a newly established division of Fairport Engineering Limited in 2021. Fairport Engineering Limited have now been acquired by pxGroup and as a result FTT has now become pxFairport.

 

We are an Engineering and Projects Delivery business specialising in the design, installation, management and consultancy of bulk material handling systems across a number of sectors, with specific expertise in tunnelling, aggregates and ports. With long standing industry expertise, our recent history includes successfully delivering projects in the UK, Europe and Asian markets.

 

The Opportunity

 

The Bid engineering Apprentice will work within the Sales & Proposals Team at px Fairport, Sunderland. The Bid engineering Apprentice will help maximise the probability of the organisation winning bids, tenders and other applications. The Bid engineering Apprentice will work with the wider business teams to bring together compelling, customer focused proposals and tender submissions to win business, focusing on best cost and best engineered solution.

 

You’ll be supported in learning the following:

 

  • Gain first hand experience within the different departments within pxFairport to gain a better understanding of how the business operates and the link between departments
  • Understand and follow a detailed proposal process from opportunity qualification/Request for Information (RFI) stage, solution development, bid resource allocation, proposal writing and development, production and submission
  • Understand when to use appropriate supporting templates and procedures, ensuring necessary steps, reviews and signatories are planned prior to proposal submissions
  • Know how to use bid software to compile electronic submissions and understand how e-portals work, including how and where electronic tenders are handled
