About the role As a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Deputy DSL), you will report to the Director of Student Experience (DSL) and work with other managers across the College to ensure that the College has highly effective safeguarding processes that support staff, students, and apprentices to remain safe. You will take operational responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the College, ensuring that it complies with the most up to date version of Keeping Children Safe in Education, the Prevent Duty, and any other relevant legislation. You will ensure that safeguarding has a high profile and that staff at all levels are aware of and fulfil their responsibilities for keeping the College community safe.
About the person You will possess a strong understanding of safeguarding and ‘Prevent’ gained by at least three years work experience at middle or junior management level within an education or related setting. Experience of liaising with statutory agencies and relevant stakeholders, and being responsible for devising and implementing successful strategies to embed safeguarding and ‘Prevent’ are also essential.
You will have high level interpersonal skills and ability to work with a range of people, and be able to analyse, monitor and review performance against targets. have. In terms of how you project yourself, you must be able to engender confidence and credibility amongst staff at all levels and with external agencies and stakeholders
