The V&A is the world's leading museum of art and design. We enrich people's lives by promoting the practice of design and increasing knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the designed world. The V&A’s Conservation Department offers work placements to students enrolled on recognised conservation training courses. The placements provide an opportunity for students to gain work-based experience working alongside the V&A’s conservators. Work placement students can expect to work on a variety of work-based assignments that may include interventive and preventive conservation, as well as administrative tasks and research projects.
Applicants must note:
- The work placement must be a requirement of the student’s studies.
- The work placement is undertaken on a voluntary basis.
- The duration of a work placement will normally be from three weeks to six months.
