Night Concierge x2 – City Lodge

£19,281 - £20,546 per annum

37.5 hours per week

We’re looking to recruit 2 Night Concierges to join the team at the City Lodge on a full-time, permanent basis. The City Lodge is a 17 bedded project offering long term accommodation for people who have slept on the streets of London for many years. The guests will have already been at the Lodge at St Ursula’s and will be very familiar with the environment, which is one of homeliness and warmth, and that they are treated with respect and given every encouragement to maintain their independence.

In this role you’ll be responsible for providing first contact and safeguarding clients at night, including dealing with emergencies. You’ll undertake regular health and safety checks on patrols and through monitoring the CCTV system. You will also have responsibility for maintaining a full and accurate log of events and reporting on incidents and any maintenance issues.

As such, we require someone who has good communication skills and an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable clients. You will need to be able to interact in a positive and friendly manner with people with mental health needs, and be passionate about working in a service that supports vulnerable adults.

You should have a basic level of numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to use your initiative; to identify the appropriate action to take in various situations. You’ll also be expected to be punctual, awake and alert at all times during your shift and act with integrity, within our policies and procedures.

Flexibility is required, as you’ll be working a shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays. In addition the role will involve lone working.

If you believe that you have what we are looking for, and have an interest in working for a charity which makes a real difference to the lives of people who are homeless, we would love to hear from you.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, childcare, cycle and eye care voucher schemes and initiatives to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development.

Closing date: 10am, Thursday 28 th September

Interview and Assessment date: w/c 16 th October (date tbc)

Please be advised that all appointments will be made on St Mungo’s current standard Terms and Conditions (T&Cs); this also applies to any internal candidates.
