The HR Department works across the V&A, to enable, and facilitate the success of the museum through its people. We aim to support everyone to achieve their full potential and high levels of engagement in an inspiring working environment. The V&A is committed to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion (ED&I) through all our practices; the collection, our people, our goods and services, our audiences, programmes, and events, aspiring to reflect the community we serve. We strive to make ED&I a natural and integral part of our world and be proactive in recognising and removing the barriers which people from all backgrounds may face in accessing the Museum’s collections, services and employment.

This Lead role will ensure we achieve our organisation wide ambition and collective responsibility to be inclusive to all, by developing a diverse workforce and building an inclusive culture, through embedding and promoting ED&I in our culture and practices.
The scope of this role includes all employees, workers, and volunteers. Building on existing activity, you will lead the development and implementation of a workforce EDI approach as part of the overall People Plan. You will focus on providing expertise, advice and guidance to design and establish our practices and policies to build an inclusive culture across the V&A. You will develop and maintain our EDI systems, processes, and measures to achieve our strategic EDI objectives. Working collaboratively across the organisation and with specialist groups, you will promote and champion best EDI practice and achievement.
