Milton Keynes College are working in partnership with HMP Bullingdon to put education at the heart of the prison system.

We are looking for an experienced Exams Coordinator to support population needs and increase efficiency in the co-ordination of the exams process within the prison. The successful candidate will have customer focused administration and Education support experience. As Exams Coordinator, you will work closely with the education team to support during the Exams process within the prison.

Milton Keynes College deliver an exciting and varied curriculum in 28 of Her Majesty's Prisons and Young Offenders Institutes. We also have a successful Employment Academy model which works with employers and stakeholders to enhance our learners' chances of re-entering society successfully, to find employment upon release and to live fulfilling lives. We are proud of supporting our learners' successfully through education and 'Through the Gate'.

HMP Bullingdon is a complex prison that has a number of functions. It is categorised as a local category B prison which a category C resettlement function, as was well as serving the courts of Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, and Wiltshire. HMP Bullingdon has the capacity to hold 1114 offenders all serving a range of sentences from remand to life, with the average length of stay between 3 and 6 months.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Have proven experience of working in a customer focussed administrative environment.
  • Have proven experience of working in an Educational Support Role
  • Have proven experience of processing large volumes of data onto databases
  • Have a good working knowledge of MS Office and have attained a recognised IT qualification at level 2 or higher.
  • Knowledge of awarding body websites, systems and process for the registration and claiming of achievements.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to execute duties to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to motivate self and others.
  • Have thinking ability: able to plan, communicate and problem solve effectively.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Location: HMP Bullingdon

Hours: 18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £14,910 - £19,525 per annum, pro rata
