The West London Rough Sleeping Prevention Service is an exciting and politically relevant service funded by the DCLG, aiming to prevent people at risk of homelessness from Rough Sleeping. Rough Sleeping Prevention Workers work as a lead in a specific West London Boroughs, keeping clients in accommodation or re-housing where there is no local authority duty.

As a Rough Sleeping Prevention Worker, whether you are working directly with clients, managing relationships with landlords or engaging in mediation with family and friends, you should be confident in delivering support and advice to prevent clients from sleeping rough.

This involves working closely with clients and corporate contacts as well as working with internal partners; to ensure the service does everything within its power to prevent clients from Rough Sleeping. In your role you will also provide advocacy for clients that are considered non-priority to local authorities.

To be successful, you should have experience working with clients who need advocacy and support to maintain the most suitable housing option for them. Other requirements include an understanding around Welfare and Benefits and an ability to manage large caseloads in a busy operational environment. As your role will be varied, the ability to communicate effectively is also essential.
