We’re looking for a passionate and proactive senior leader to join our team!

Location: Mirfield (WF14 0DQ)

Salary: circa £44,000/pa

Hours: 37hrs per week, Monday – Friday

Closing date: 30th September 2021

Hollybank Trust is a charity based in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. We have been providing education and residential care for over 65 years, and currently support more than a hundred children, young people and adults with profound and multiple disabilities. The services we provide not only improve the lives of the individuals who live and learn here, but also those of families, friends and the wider community.

We need an experienced and energetic head of communication and employee engagement to help us spread the word about what we do - and why it’s important. Not only will you be leading on enhancing our staff engagement and keep our growing staff team up to speed with what’s going on across the Trust, you’ll also be responsible for nurturing our relationships with external stakeholders, such as parents & families, funders & donors, and community leaders. This is a permanent, full-time role, reporting to our executive director of people, communications and children’s services.

You’ll need to:

  • Be experienced at building effective employee engagement strategies
  • Enjoy working on a variety of tasks and be able to drive successful outcomes
  • Be passionate about putting pen to paper - strong writing skills are a must and you’ll genuinely enjoy scratching beneath the surface to find newsworthy content
  • Be social media savvy - you’ll know your Facebook from your Workplace – and you’ll be keen to explore how new digital channels can help us share our stories
  • Be a people person – as well as managing a small team, you’ll be enhancing relationships with our long-standing supporters and building new connections

This is an exciting role at the heart of the organisation - if you enjoy being in the centre of it all this could be the role for you. The post can be considered as a hybrid working pattern, combining time working from home and at the main site in Mirfield. Knowledge of the Health & Social Care sector would be an advantage, but not essential. Please read the Job Description before applying.
