The Short Stay School for Norfolk is a single countywide institution which meets the needs of a diverse cohort of vulnerable and challenging young people from 8 physical locations. The majority of our young people have been permanently excluded from school and are preparing for an onward transition to a new school or specialist provision.
We are seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant for Maternity cover. This role involves supporting children with complex social, emotional and mental health needs. The role involves acting as a Key Worker to ensure they are accessing their provision and supporting them with a range of welfare and social issues. This is not a traditional teaching assistant role and would suit candidates with experience of alternative education and/or youth work.
Suitable candidates will be able to work well under their own initiative and have high levels of resilience, excellent ICT and administrative skills and an exemplary attendance record.
