People Partner – Remote Working

We’re looking for an experienced People Partner to join our busy People & Talent team, empowering Babington to deliver on our purpose, vision, mission, and values. If you have a track record in delivering excellent operational HR BP support, identifying & implementing initiatives that make a real difference and are comfortable in a fast-paced business environment, we want to hear from you!

The Position 

As People Partner, you’ll be a key member of our People & Talent team, focussing on the delivery and implementation of our People Strategy, working in partnership with internal stakeholders throughout Babington.

You’ll be responsible for providing HR advice, guidance and operational support to managers across the business, and the effective delivery of employee related performance and engagement outcomes.

Main Responsibilities 

  1. Work collaboratively and build trusting ‘Critical Friend’ relationships with various stakeholders across the organisation to ensure a true understanding of operational challenges and opportunities.
  2. Provide commercially focused support and guidance in key areas including employment law and People processes, ensuring our policies and processes are implemented appropriately.
  3. Be a subject matter expert for ER matters, ensuring compliance with employment law and related legislation, actively reducing risk to the organisation by ensuring consistent advice and guidance is provided.
  4. Provide strategic and operational advice and insight to design and drive People Plan objectives in order to drive high performance and support business objectives.
  5. Ensure a full commercial understanding of each department, working with managers and leaders to explore opportunities to drive more effective and efficient working practices.
  6. Play a key part in the organisational approach to the employee performance and development lifecycle, from objective setting to formal reviews, personal development plans and training interventions.
  7. Contribute to People projects including talent management and succession planning, wellbeing and inclusion and total reward.
  8. Continuously develop management capability for managers across the business, through design and delivery of scheduled training programmes, ad hoc development activity and situational coaching.

Skills and Experience 

  • Strong knowledge of employment law with the ability to manage ER caseloads, including complex and risky cases.
  • Ability to identify and implement People initiatives to raise organisational performance.
  • Experience of reward and recognition approaches.
  • Experience of delivering operational HR support to a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of using data to inform key actions and priorities.
  • Experience of delivering Change and transformational initiatives, including OD, M&A and TUPE.
  • Experience of creating highly effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience of designing and developing manager toolkits to build skills, confidence and knowledge.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office and similar IT tools.
  • CIPD Level 5 in Human Resources Management or equivalent.

We’re offering a competitive salary of £40,000 to £45,000 pa and the following great benefits: Remote working with occasional travel in the Midlands area. BUPA healthcare cashback plan. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and ability to purchase days. 5% pension contribution.
