As part of a small technical team and under the guidance of the Second Engineer, you will be responsible for routine maintenance and survey schedules for main diesel engines and overseeing a range of auxiliary machinery maintenance and repair. The focus being in the safe, effective, efficient and mechanical management of all aspects of the ship’s machinery.
With an Officer of the Watch unlimited (III/1) Certificate of Competency or higher, you must have a thorough knowledge of diesel electric propulsion systems. A working knowledge of the ISM Code is also required. A valid ENG 1 medical certificate is essential. In addition, you should possess good IT and communication skills and be familiar with maintenance information systems.
