Are you an Internal Communications professional looking to take the next step in your career? Milton Keynes College are looking for a well-rounded communicator with a passion for storytelling to drive a number of our key stakeholder campaigns.

Reporting in to our Communications Manager, you will support to drive forward both internal and external communications, sharing good news stories and supporting events, building an internal community across both our campuses and prisons nationally.

The successful applicant will have exceptional copy-writing skills and demonstrate experience of creating microsites & e-zines, the use of content management systems (CMS), and email marketing tools. This role also encompasses responsibility for our ongoing communications with employers.

In return you will get the opportunity to develop communications around sector leading projects such as our bid for an Institute of Technology whilst continuing our work to position MK College as one of the leading FE Colleges and Prison Education specialists in the country.

Location: Chaffron Way
Hours: 37 hours per week 52 weeks per year
Salary: Circa £28,000 per annum

As the successful candidate you will have

  • English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) to Grade C or above
  • CIM, IDM or Marketing / PR qualification would be desirable              
  • Experience of supporting internal / external communications in a large organisation and significant process improvement
  • Experience of managing internal comms
  • Ability to write engaging content for multiple audiences
  • The ability to influence multiple stakeholders to agree messaging and communication priorities
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to independently manage communications plans
  • Excellent attention to detail

The College offers a broad range of qualifications with more than 3,000 16 – 18-year-old full-time students studying vocational courses, apprenticeships and Higher Education at our campuses in Milton Keynes. In addition, the College delivers employability and skills training programmes to 3,000 people in local community learning centres.
